Dune 65
GRIT
Designer: Kenny & Jingvv
Exterior Design:
The inspiration for Dune 65 comes from the lines formed under the action of wind on sand dunes (see the image below: sourced from the internet, contact for removal if copyright infringement).
Our goal for the board design is to be aesthetically pleasing while maintaining simplicity.
Therefore, we have removed elements such as logos and text, starting from the most basic points, lines, and surfaces.
The interwoven lines on the back can represent either deserts stretching to the horizon or layers of sand dunes, allowing everyone to enrich its meaning through their imagination.
Based on the initial design drawings, we adjusted the overall thickness, typing angle, and front height.
We also reconstructed the lines at the back, optimizing the overall visual effect.
While ensuring the appropriate bottom case thickness and enough bottom clearence, we minimized the front height and EKH (Edge Key Height) as much as possible.
The typing angle is set at 8° to achieve a more comfortable typing experience.

The dual mounting style design of the internal brings high playability to the keyboard.
We continue to use the dual mounting style on Dune 65 and have made further improvements.
For the Top mount, we adopted the Leaf Spring Top Mount and adjusted the arrangement of the lower edge plate springs to ensure a consistently excellent inner shell feel and a crisp and pleasing spacebar sound.
For the Gasket structure, to achieve a solid typing experience, we abandoned the leaf spring structure and adopted a silicone Gasket Mount.

In terms of PCB, it will be using a 1.6mm black core board without flex-cuts.
This internal design ensures a clean sound even without foam.
For the bottom case, we chose brass as the high-density material and kept as is.
We placed the small board and battery compartment inside the weight to make the bottom chamber flat and the bottom shell thickness uniform, resulting in a purer and more solid sound feedback.
